So, here's what I'm thinking. Feel free to comment, criticize, etc.
I think that a "swap" area of the site could be super useful - for both yeasts and beers.
You'd enter in items that you had available for swapping, and also, items that you might be looking for. Other uses could then search either of those.
They would propose a trade with you via the site, which you could accept, deny, or modify.
Once an agreement is made, it can't be modified - only cancelled (with the agreement of both parties).
You get the opportunity to leave feedback for the other person - did they ship in a timely manner? Did they ship at all? Did they send what was promised?
Another possibly useful thing would be swap groups - i.e. six people agree to swap beers. Maybe to save on shipping, they all ship to one guy, who repackages and ships them back out.

Sounds like a cool idea to me. I'm not well-versed in the swap economy, but I'd be interested (lots of good yeast/beer down in San Diego).

Love the idea of swaps, for sure.
Maybe a book swap? Like "I have book X, if anyone wants to read it they can pay for shipping"? Although at that point you may as well buy the book, so probably not that useful.

Kidding. But yes, I'd love this idea. I haven't had a chance to send out beer to ANY of you yet, but I think an organized thing would motivate me to get my shit together. I'd be game for beer swaps at any time as well. Commercial or homebrew.
