I've had a small amount of IPA leak out into my freezer before; I assumed this was from the picnic tap bumping up against something, and have been very careful to make sure that doesn't happen again. At the moment, I have a couple of these that I swap back and forth among my three kegs.

Last night, I went to pull a pint of IPA, and discovered more beer in the bottom. now, I see where it's coming from. Even with the gas and beer lines both disconnected, the beer is oozing out around the liquid post. What in the actual eff?

For the time being, I've reconnected a picnic tap on that liquid post, and I'll just keep it there. I'd love to know WHY it's doing this.

Bad seal on the post, most likely.

Supposed to be an effing new keg. Nothing to do right now but leave it hooked up, then disassemble that between batches?

You can take off the gas, take off the pressure and pull that post. It might be a bad seal or it just might be loose. Just make absolutely sure the pressure is fully vented.

Pro-Tip: Puppy Pee Pads under the kegs will soak up and hold spilled beer.

Amazon or oringsandmore.com or mcmaster are the places I can recommend to get them.

Dash numbers:

Dip tube: 109
Post: 111
Lid: 417

Silicone is best, IMO.

The Pee Pads should be unused... just to prevent any confusion :)

Thanks for clearing that up.

I have some spare o rings, testingapril. Thanks, though!

In that case, just bleed the pressure, pull the post and replace the oring. Have a spray bottle of star San handy and use it liberally as you reassemble and you should be good to go.

I think it's a 11/16 socket/wrench to get it off.

You can then squeeze the pad into a pint glass to save your precious barley water....;-)
