So, what are you hoping that Santa brings to you this year?

I'm strongly considering asking for some of the pieces needed to get started in kegging.

Think of the IPAs you could brew!

I know, I know. It's easily the number one motivating factor.

You should totally start kegging Olan. Best decision I ever made.

Oh, come on Olan, Bottling isn't that bad. You love bottling.

The "problem" I have is that I don't really need anything else unless I really want to spend some $$$ to add another kettle/burner to my system. Right now I do kind of a shell game with my kettle to mash and heat sparge water. I could probably shave an hour or so off my brew day if I had another way of heating water.

Something like this is interesting to me, but $300 is pretty pricy.

KidMoxie, you can build that same thing A LOT cheaper I think. Almost makes me want to go price it out.

I really don't mind bottling, though I don't like the soaking and cleaning ahead of time. But getting another, say, two weeks of goodness out of my IPAs? Maybe more, due to ability to purge with CO2? Yeah, that sounds nice.

Olan needs to learn how to drink like a Wisconsinite. Then he'd be in a hurry to start kegging.

My IPA's taste pretty stinking fresh even at 4 months. Racking under CO2 + fully filled and purged kegs = very very little o2 in there. Plus, no hot storage of IPA. Ever. It's always cold.

I would guess that you will increase your IPA freshness by a month at least and probably 2 months.

Cut that out, Dan. I'm trying to be reasonable, but fresh IPA for that much longer nearly makes me hurt to think about.

how do you manage to keep IPA around for 4 months? Jeez.

I dont push with CO2 (might be worth looking into at some point), but i definitely rack under it typically. Maybe not 100% CO2, but close.

Simple, I don't get drunk, I brew 10 gals at a time, and I have a 6 tap keezer.

Quality over quantity and I like variety.
