Hey everyone,

I'm planning on building a keezer. I bought a white chest freezer that I plan to paint black using appliance paint. I'll then paint over a section using chalkboard paint. Similar to the keezer below:
mainlinebrewers/projects/keezer/

My plan is to lightly sand the white freezer, then apply several coats of black appliance paint. I'll then tape off a section of the keezer and apply chalkboard paint on top of the appliance paint (I haven't decided if I'll be using spray on chalkboard paint or if I'll roll it on)

Has anyone ever tried this? Should I sand to bare metal then prime then paint? Any tips are welcome!

I personally think that your plan is solid.  I'm a bigger fan of rolling on paint than spraying it, but I have zero experience with chalkboard paint.

I've rolled full freezers (2) with chalkboard paint. Works well and seems to stick fine with even minimal scuff-sanding and a clean surface.

Out of curiosity why roll rather spray? It seems like rolling on can make it harder to get a good even coat that isn't runny
