Just grained in. Mash is going great - RIMS running at full speed. Garage starting to fill with malty wonderfulness. The new mill chew through my grain bill with no hitches... and very little dust. Decided to extend the mash because the crush was so course compared to my past crush... will see.
I live sort of out in the country between Austin and Bastrop - and it's just about 70 F at 10:00 am. My garage faces a green belt that divides our little plots of land, and deer, squirrels and a roadrunner have all checked out what I am doing. Last year a doe wandered right up and nuzzled a bag of malt. Haven't seen her yet this year, but a treat is always waiting for her.
Doing Brulosopher's Best Brown scaled up to 11 gallons. It will be featured in a Bru'n Water / Brewing application article, and will send some off to Marshall to choke down, as well as comment on his approach to the recipe. Had to sub C10 for the C15, so upped the C60 a few ounces to compensate the color. Smells just awesome.

Sounds like a far better Monday than I'm having!

Really! I wish I had set up to do anther brew today. Stuck at home, having cleared the driveway of snow twice now (about 12" total) and watching another 3" to 4" pile up already with no end in sight. Ah well, I did sterilize some water for yeast rinsing (it helped to warm up the kitchen).
