Tasting notes | This beer is supposed to be a clone/version of the commercial Leffe Blonde ale, and it hits extremely close to the mark. The flavor has a pleasant graininess to it, with some nice - but not overstated - fruitiness, along with some peppery spiciness. Body is surprisingly light for the mash temperature. Each sip starts off fairly sweet before giving way to a moderately dry finish. This is a wonderful "compromise" beer - non craft beer drinkers won't be overwhelmed by powerful "dark" flavors, but even a refines beer palate will be able to enjoy the complex flavor of this beer. The author states that this beer lends itself very well to fruiting (particularly to strawberries or peaches), but quite honestly, this is an outstanding beer as is. This is another of my personal "house" beers - it should always be kept on hand. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Credits | This is the very popular Revvy's Belgian Blonde (Leffe clone) recipe, by Revvy of homebrewtalk. The only changes are scaling to my batch size and brewhouse efficiency, as well as some minor rounding. I can unequivocally state that this is an amazing beer. |
